97 impreza ej16 cam bolt torque

Post by apfreds » Wed Jul 24, 2013 10:57 pm

I removed both cam pulleys to replace the cam seals on my 97' Impreza ej16 & now I'm looking all over Google/Youtube & can not for the life of me find the Torque settings for the cam pulley bolts, I have the FSM's for both 93-96 & 97-98 Impreza's, but they only give me DOHC torque info, please help, It's getting late and I want to finish installing my timing belt tonight.

cheers, Aaron.

also if there's a pdf download somewhere with SOHC diagrams, that would be amazing.

I'd say that the torque specs for the DOHC cams will be the same as the SOHC.

I've not gone with torque specs other than "really tight" with a socket and breaker bar...

thanks El_Freddo for replying,

I was thinking that, I found the torque settings for the 1.8 sohc, just going to go with that, throwing on a bit of permatex threadlock to make sure too.

you don't by any chance know the crank bolt torque for the 1.6? that will be my next mission.

If you have a haynes or gregory's manual it'll be in there ;)

I don't know where mine is so I can't do a quick reference for you...
