Help

Post by sunshine » Tue Mar 12, 2013 8:48 pm

i have a 1996 subaru impreza originaly an ej20 but changed to an ej25 by the person i bought it off it runs rough and does not idle properly jumping from 500 rpm to 1500 and when it starts it revs up to 3000rpm i am pretty sure it has the ej20 ECU in it and the wiring has been changed as with the two crank sensors is it possible to use the ej20 ecu and having it run properley
THANKS

Check the part number on the ECU to confirm to see if its EJ20 or EJ25.
Cheers

Is this a new problem or has it been doing it since the conversion was done?

You will never get it to run properly on the EJ20 ECU. You need the EJ25 ECU for it to run properly.

Or buy an 'piggy-back' system to run the extra fuel and timing
You know you are getting old when the candles on your birthday cake start to cost more than the cake itself.
