vehicle depreciation rates differ....

Post by steptoe » Thu Dec 27, 2012 6:34 pm

brand by brand we have seen a difference, some times a big difference, in the rate a cars value depreciates - usually by age, but also by the 100,000km mark ....... with Subaru and Honda being amongst some of the better stayers from memory.

Now, what's it gonna be with the BRZ and the Toyota version? Is the Subaru version going to keep a higher resale value in comparison with its Toyota cousin ? Taking into consideration initial purchase price and level of trim.

Let this disappear into archives for a few years and drag it out to have a look at resale figures :)

Toyota don't do that bad in resale values either.

I think it will be based on demand. I think it is both Subaru and Toyota's plan to not meet demand to protect the BRZ and '86 resale value.
