Call Centrebet ? Is it going to LHS or RHS blown ?

Post by steptoe » Mon Jun 19, 2006 7:53 pm

I am getting closer to extracting the EA82T out of Project CHEAP GRIEF

It has serious cooling system pressurising so we say head gasket is gone

Has anyone found a common side for gaskets to go on EA82 normal or turbo ?

Which side should I remove first guys ?

Have discovered the Bodgy Brothers have been working on this beast in its past life, but I should be thankful there was no boost controller or after market intercooler when I got it . Should be able to fix that later...15 psi you say ...hmmmmi

do both the gaskets. as sides goes i have no idea. all i know is that they like going, while your at it get a new water pump and replace every seal on the motor...

then you will have reliability

then yes 15psi and a WAIC will be super nice... and even go the next step and an after market computer...

mine is currently running around 14psi and no cooler and was nice has just had the head gaskets done so id say that the boost did that. (previous owner did em)

Do you have the odds available?

Whatever they are, I'll put $10 on the favourite and $5 on the underdog.

and if they are both gone ?

Uh Oh

melted timing belt covers are not a good sign of future longevity.....

so I guess I can really wind the boost up to see how things go

YES. IT IS OUT

what a mmmph of a job that was !! and that is only the start

came out with turbo attached and that sensor below turbo in exhaust pipe, with green wire that was not connected, it was still wrapped around something so it pulled out

I'll have its part number here soon for exact id processi

I would go with Muddy and bet the RHS but do both weather only one is knackered or not.

the inlet man gaskets looked to be leaking into ports too

whoever said there was only one way to do these - properly - must have had some experience !
