without pulling it apart (cant back at uni and car is 4 hours away) the two rear cylinders dont work, possibly piston hitting valves or something simular

this is highly unlikely, I would say the valves are bent and hitting each other.

If a valve is hitting a piston or has hit a piston, then there would be a 99% chance of catastrophic failure of the engine.

good to see you got another engine and that it will be back on the road quickly.

Great to hear that you got another engine mate. The swap is piss easy. I got mine done on Monday and was surprised how easy it was. I have to say though that my new 2.0l isn't gutless, unlike the old donk. God my L-Series used to leave it for dead in most situations, now it's the other way around :)

All you really need for the swap is sockets, spanners, screw driver and an engine hoist.. Good luck with it, when do you think the swap will happen?

thanks. that sounds more likely with the valves hitting, either way was easier to replace the engine.

thanks mate, im not doing the swap myself, back at uni now and dont have the tools here with me to attempt it. my old 2.0l was low on power about a week before it happened, but i didnt take any notice of it as i just thought it was due to needing a service.

hoping end of this week coming or the week after i will be getting it back. go back home on the 11th so hopefully by then

pick it up in 10 minutes so can cant wait! the rear shock still needs to be replaced but that can wait for a while ;)

Good stuff mate!

I hope it keeps running the way it should be! It took long enough to get it sorted...

Cheers
