Liberty door interchangeability
Hello All,
Yesterday I drove home a second Subaru for parts. It's a Gen2 Liberty wagon.
As soon as I got it home my son decided that he wanted it as a paddock basher.
Now the only problem with this is that the car has a severely damaged front passenger door that will not open.
Looking at Liberty's it looks like the doors between gen1, gen2 and gen3 are basically the same doors fitted with different skins would that be right?
I have come across a cheap Gen3 door. Does anyone know if that will bolt onto a gen2 and work? or even if I stumble across a gen1 door would it bolt on?
Obviously the wrong generation of door would look wrong but would it work?
Thanks, Jim...

No they are all totally different skins, put an add up on RSLC, usually worth about 50 - 75

Yes I did mention that fact in my original post but what about the frame of the door. If they fit in the same hole I'll be happy with any door I can get.d_generate wrote:No they are all totally different skins
It's a paddock car and it's been heavily T boned in the passenger door so it will never look right no matter which model door I use.
I can get a gen3 door for $30 so if it fits i'd be happier to spend that than I would be spending $75
If I can bash the door that's on it back into a good enough shape that I can open and shut it then I'll do that but the door is really badly bent.

Buy it and give it a go but all 3 cars were designed by different people...Gen 2 by the guy that designed the Maybach, I've got 4 doors sitting in my shed, if you were in WA and wanted a drivers side door you could have it free, like I said, try RSLibertyClub, plenty of Canberra owners and one might have one that's got a scrape or ding in it that they'd probably happily give away.

Ahh but nothing could look worse than the clear tail lights on some of the 380's...what were they thinking!
