ej25 out of 98 outback

Post by shuffbag » Fri Jun 03, 2011 11:14 am

would a ej25 out of a 98 out back have security gear from factory? Trying to find out how hard the loom strip will be.

Can anyone throw me a link to a ecu pin out please? Its auto if that matters?

Pack it all up and send it to Subarino:p
I must say he did a great job with mine. From the 60cm square box compact of wiring i sent him, only a 20cm square box of engine loom came back all labeled.

Notoriously bad engine for head gaskets blowing, if they haven't been done yet it would be worth changing them while the motor is out, otherwise a great motor.

Yes you will need to retain the security/immobiliser wiring for it to work. This includes the coded key and ignition barrel with the antenna ring around it and the immobiliser box. Other i think there are only 2 or so wires from the immobiliser box to the ECU

i have full wiring but no keys or ing. my wifes forester of the same year doesnt have an immobiliser?
the ecu has a 21 sticker.
i did my last loom for a ej swap, so i will be doing this aswell.
i guess if there is no way around the immobiliser (if it has it) i'll build a franken motor i belive they run the ej22 looms.

what would be a dead give away of an immobiliser (loom specific)? i'll post up a pick of the loom if it helps?

Ok so BG means it is from a Gen2 (1993-1998 )
It does not have an immobiliser so you have nothing to worry about

A quick rundown of model codes for sedan and wagon Liberty's
BC/BF is Gen1
BD/BG is Gen2
BE/BH is Gen3
BL/BP is Gen4
