A Tailgate worth more than half of the brumby's for sale
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SUBARU-BRUMB ... 500wt_1156
Couldn't believe the price when I saw this, I know they are a common problem with rust (my uncle actually designed a fibreglass pattern for these) but geese that is exy.

wow, then truly not a cheap item. I wish I could TOONGA, it was a bit before my time. my uncle used to run a subaru wrecking yard as well as what is now SunSpares (subaru parts place on the sunny coast) and a couple of others. He had a brumby that was made up of something like 15 different wrecks. On this brumby he had a fibreglass tailgate that he made as he was sick of them rusting out. I am pretty sure he made a few of them however he has been out of the game for a fair few years and now enjoying his retirement.
I really wish I had off been old enough when he was still making them because the man knows the cars back to front and made some pretty cool mods.

First the bad news then the GOOD NEWS
Guys -
Sorry to be the bearer of REAL BADDY BAD news I was informed this week that there are now no more Mk2 Brumby tailgates avalible from Subaru Japan - so thats fenders and Tailgates now off limits
Gets worse too....
The fenders will not be re-run by the Taiwaneese copy cat manufacturer - so expect prices to rise for any still out there.........
However we are looking at commissioning a pattern for Composite replacement Brumby tailgates here in the UK along with front wings too.
Had a meeting yesterday (Friday) with the company who is to quote me for this.
I have accuired some brand new un-used wings and a new tail gate to form the pattern from so they will be as perfect as can be.
The chosen company already manufacture vehicle body parts and the quality is excellent and they have the working knowledge to make the parts we need.
Mr Frog could well be the Aus point of contact if things come together and we have batches made - he doesnt know just yet though!(the more we ship the cheaper each unit can be)
Makes economic sense to have one pattern only made so as to keep artomisation (spelling??) costs per finished unit as low as possible.
I am able to handle this here in the UK from a development and quality point of view and can then go onto orgainise shipments.
If there was a similar op happening in Aus then the tooling cost versus the numbers to be made each end would be very high = high unit sale cost.
Sorry - too early for prices just yet but will be pushing on this heavily as there is a paitently waiting group here in UK wanting these items.
PLEASE POST ANY EXPRESSION OF INTEREST ON THE THREAD IN SUBARU CHAT '' BRUMBY TAILGATES AND FENDERS COMING SOON'' - Thanks !
More news as things develop.

M y EA82T brumby has a fibreglass tailgate. You wouldn't know it unless you tapped it with your fingers and heard the sound. It was on it when I bought it so don't know where it came from. T.
