Hi, my Brumby has been sitting around for 12 months with no coolant. I'm assuming that this hasn't done any favours for the heater unit so i though i would pop it out and get it looked at by a radiator shop. (I assume it's rusted up) Does anyone know if the heat exchanger core can be replaced - or the best way to go about it? Is it a generic part? Can it be brazed out and replaced?
I've got the Gregory's manual - its says the steering wheel and column need to come out. Really? I've taken to the "just undo every screw you can see approach" and abandoned the manual - it's very hard to figure out what they're talking about. Cheers, Ron.
Edit: Found this http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Subaru-Brumby-L- ... 1e62d0de12 . I'll take mine out and see if it looks the same. Is that a good deal?

Personally I'd just flush it out while it's still in the car (saves pulling the dash out) by just running a hose back and forth between the 2 rubber heater hoses in the engine bay. My belief is.. if it's not broken why f**k with it
I'd flush out then run the car and only if it leaks.. the fix it. Just my opinion

You know you are getting old when the candles on your birthday cake start to cost more than the cake itself.
