Outback Spare Wheel

Post by Chiarrai » Tue Sep 28, 2010 9:40 pm

Recently someone kindly stole the spare wheel from my car. Nice. It was a full size alloy wheel, which came with the car originally.

Anyway, I've had real trouble finding a replacement spare wheel. I've contacted Subaru and they were quoting in excess of $1,000 for a replacement.

I've checked every wrecker in Victoria and no-one has one.

My outback is a MY08 with a 17" five spoke wheel.

I would love to get an exact replacement, but I would settle for a wheel that would fit a Subaru Outback.

Any advice or assistance would be most appreciated. Please let me know if any further info is required.

Thanks in advance.

uh huh... Ive heard same story before.... from a mate of mine - He ended up buying a set of 4 off ebay and sold 3 "worst" rims and kept 1...

eBay will be painful long time searching to find original rim and wont be a good condition as it would be rare to find a very good condition. I know how you feel mate... Wreckers doesnt like selling 1 rim out of a set unless the other set is damaged in a smash then yes..
Can you tell us who you've contacted? If you missed someone we might be able to advise you to get in touch with.
Cheers

Thanks for the reply. I've done an internet search on wreckers in Melbourne who specialise in Subaru parts and contacted about 6 in the metropolitan area. Sorry can't remember all their names. Any recommendations would help.
