Suby wheel interchangability

Post by graham7773 » Sat Jun 19, 2010 11:42 am

Is there a thread that tells me which Suby wheels can be interchanged with other Suby models. I cannot find any info. I would like to know if 2001 Forrester wheels will fit on my 1992 GX Liberty FWD wagon without any dramas

Not sure about a thread but maybe your local tyre shop may have a list of the offsets for each models.. as I feel this would be the only issue between the 2 models you have mentioned.

Pretty sure Liberty is +55 offset & Foz & outback are +48 so they will stick out 5mm further but it shouldn't be a problem, Foz wheels are fine on my WRX.

Thanks for the info. one more thing, will standard 1992 Liberty wheel nuts be OK for the Forrester wheels? Simple questions I know but I don't know the answers

need to look at yer nuts of both sets. are they tapered where fit against steel rim, alloy rim nuts differ in the face and body generally with wheels and nuts. look at where nut fits against rim

I know that there are different types of seats for the wheel nuts, I don't have the Forester wheels yet and so don't know if they are tapered seat or flat. I had a falcon and the alloy wheels on it had tapered seats. I was thinking before that that all alloy wheels had flat seats. Now I learn that there are several types of alloy wheels that have tapered seats. If the Forester has tapered seats, I don't have a problem.
