just wondering if those who have done or commissioned their own removal of tired noisy old EA81 and replaced with EA82 or EJ series engines, whether you noticed considerable improvement in the noise, vibration and harshness department. Or is it the design and age of these things that would cause even an electric powered model to have all the road noise I am getting above my exhaust note.
Admittedly these babies are a little on the agricultural side of things. I have tarred up under the cabin and tray to try to reduce any drummy noise. Also fitted up the matting of L wagon to back wall inside cabin behind the plastic liner.
The WRXed Brumby I have ben inis not the best representation of EJ'd either as it had a straight through 3 inch from memory.Audibly, it felt like I was sitting in some crude old LJ GTR XU1

I stepped out of an EF Falcon into my 1992 GX Liberty front wheel drive and the road noise of the Liberty is triple that of the Falcon, on second thought, so much louder that it can't be compared. I thought I had some mechanical problems until I got onto an all weather road (smooth). All the noise went away and it ran very quiet till the next patch of ordinary road. All the noise came back and so on. By the way, I was the proud owner of a modified LJ GTR Torana which went like a scalded cat, tuned length extractors, 350 Holley, mild cam with alloy timing gear(noisy) and 215 x 60 x r14 tyres among other things. It was quieter than my Liberty! And looked almost as good as a friends E Type but was quicker, just ask the Highway Patrol officer at Gosford exceed speed limit by 29k in a 110 zone. don't know how he calculated the speed as he was on a bike going the other way with no radar and he underestimated by around 50k. Back when I did not know better.
