Ohh, so the EJ's don't have the neato EA82 method of the three marks with all cylinders off the cam lobes??

It's not the TGVs, we just removed them.
It's not the injectors, we just got them serviced.
It's not the timing belt, we just checked it.
It's not fuel pump or regulator... all tested.

Now i wont say what it is yet cos we still are not 100% sure but i can tell u i have driven the car with all problems gone and running 10 times faster and better than it ever has.

There might be some light at the end of the tunnel... will keep yous posted.

You're such a tease Dave.

We did the TGV Delete and found some interesting things, pics to follow.

I haven't had time to read all the responses on this issue, but I'll offer my 2 cents worth anyway.......

Our MY06 Foz XT, with the 169kw 2.5T, has had no problem towing anything I've attached to it. We towed a fairly heavy (though not as heavy as the camper trailers you are talking about here) trailer from Darwin to Canberra, via Brisbane. The car did it without any problem, and we maintained a rather quick pace in the NT, often up to 140kph. (I should point out the trailer has an extended draw bar, wore very good tyres and I had just replaced all bearings). There was no over heating at any stage and most of the time you'd forget there was a trailer ther at all.

I have also towed a car trailer with an Alfa GTV on board a short distance with this car, and although performance was effected and I drove very cautiously (it was in Sydney), I was quite impressed with the car's ability to do the towing. Once again, no overheating was experienced.

I would have no hesitations towing a camper trailer around aus with the Foz; however the off road ability of a single range vehicle such as this would be my concern when picking the towing vehicle.

Cheers,
Willie.

No these have a common belt has marks on the timing covers for cam and also cam pulleys have timing marks to line up each other(quad cam) plus the crank position.
So many optioins not enough time or money:confused:

Yeah Subaru apparently changed the fluid less than 10,000km ago. Weirdly the invoice never had the fluid on it... i called them up to question it and they said it was 100% definately replaced. Maybe it was replaced with Coke. Or i was billed for manual gear oil so maybe it's got that in it.
