This is a guide to give people an idea who don't really know much about Subaru Liberty & Outback generations by the looks of them. Its based on Australian Import Subaru Liberty (not Grey import) If I've left something out or something is incorrect, Please feel free if you want to add any comments.
Gen 1 Liberty 1989-1994 BC5 & BF5 (Models are LX, GX, Rallyee, RS & Heritage. Engine: EJ22 (RS Liberty had EJ20 Turbo))
Gen 2 Liberty 1994-1998 BD5 & BG5 (Models are LX, GX, Rallyee, RX, RX Bilstein & Heritage) Engine: EJ22, RX & Heritage had EJ25 DOHC (NB Early Heritage had EJ22)
Gen 3 Liberty BE5 & BH5 1998-2003 (models are GX & RX) Engine: GX - EJ20 N/A, RX EJ20 SOHC
Gen 4 Liberty BL5 & BP5 2004-Current (models are GX & RX but aren't badged) GX EJ20, RX EJ25 SOHC
Gen 5 Liberty 2010 (dunno the models to date) EJ25 & 3.6 Litre (dunno what engine code name is)
