lol...realistically whats so bad about that? I think a Jumbuck with full wrx running gear would be awesome. Would probably drive alot better overall than a Brumby...
With no ute available from Subaru (unless you are prepared to do a Suby-boys style resto job on a Brumby, or somehow find a mint one) people have to "adapt"

Ive seen plenty of those Proton utes in Malaysia fanging around in some of the worst road conditions ever (real roads reduced to potholes and gravel by overuse) they did well and Ive often wondered what one would go like with a subaru drive train Ive even wondered if Proton stole the old brumby presses from subaru
If there was no other option available and I had the money Im sure I would quite happily turn a jumbuck into a hybrid (frankensiten esque) subaru

I too have heard of this being done but never seen one. An evo in one of those utes would be pretty good I reckon... but its still not a brumby!gx_rex wrote:The Jumbuck is powered by the same style engine as the old CC lancer.
Last year I went to Powercuise here in perth and someone had cottoned onto the idea, so had transplanted the full driveline from an evo into it. It fairly hammered along too...
And if you look at the small car market, the jumbuck is the only small ute around - and its not even 4wd! It would be great to see subaru bring out another brumby that is still just as small, light and capable - if that was to happen and it followed along the 'blood line' of the brumby I would seriously consider scraping the money together to get one.
For now I'll continue to laugh at the B&S utes that sport a "not a jumbuck" sticker on the rear

Cheers
Bennie
Second thought maybe they wouldn't drive so well, apparently they have leaf springs at the rear, eww!
