I've got an 01 Forester that I'm gradually decking out strictly for off roading and touring. I bloody fell in love with Subarus after driving it.
SKT here on the forums also has a 2000 Forester which he has tricked out considerably. I've driven his car and it's a freakin beast offroad.

Welcome to the forum, I love this place and have learnt a lot. While I don't like blowing wind in my own trumpet, this build I've done on my girlfriend's mum's brumby may be of interest to you. It starts out with the rust stuff then progresses into the add-ons. Sunnie the Brumby.

If you want those add-ons (dash, power steering, electric windows, AC etc) a rusted out MY touring wagon donor car is your friend ;) I was lucky a mate was going to crush one and didn't care what happened to it beforehand... And it doesn't matter if its got a digi dash, that's easily sorted...

Cheers

Its not just you, for some reason when i bought it the rear rims were deeper than the front ones, so it pushes the tyre out further. I get the feeling it isnt the most legal thing done to it

I love the seats you've got in there, Rosstoss.

How's the driving position? Did you manufacture the mounts yourself?
Willie.

Had to fiddle around with them to get them to fit, just a bit of length problem. I'd have to say the position is an acquired taste, but i reckon its great, especially for the long drives.

Nice to see new people!

That's a nice brumby there, Rosstoss.

As far as forresters go, I wouldn't know much. I'm more of an outback and brumby guy myself. If they sold the Baja in australia, I'd have bought one of those! As it is I might still get a second hand one in Canada in a few years, assuming they survive that long with all that salt on the road.
Living in Canada now. Looking at all these SVXs for sale...
