Just went for a run
Took the wagon out for a last minute 'make sure' before it goes for its pink slip tomorrow.
Holy crapping hell batman, 50% more power certainly makes a difference doesn't it.......

A few more images...
My super duper power steering fititngs, about 7 hours of machining in that, all stainless steel.....
Clearance? What Clearance?
The impreza ignition barrel mounted on the L column, fits perfectly except for the immobiliser antennae shroud..
I was lucky that I didn't have a strict timeframe to knock this over which meant I could spend time on brackets and fittings etc to get them right. I have two super narrow radiator fans on custom brackets, the engine/firewall pitch rod bracket had to be made too. The right hand airbox bracket is mine too...

Hey MechaWagon,
Did you just change the engine, or did you go for the lib all wheel drive box as well? I'm curious because this is the next conversion i want to do to Ruby Scoo and want to start getting an info bank together so i know what i'm doing when it comes around to it.
Cheers
El Freddo
PS nice setup in the power steering.

It's an EA82 3.7 5speed box with an alloy adaptor plate between the engine and it.
Eventually I want to stick a forester auto 4.44 box in it but for the time being this is fine - It has plenty of power, I don't think it will have any trouble climbing anything - still not low enough gearing for steep down hills...
Seriously though, if you are looking for a good upgrade to your L series, lifted or not - take a long hard look at the EJ20 NA motor, this thing is awesome!!

Yes, I do want to bring it, but the department of domestic affairs has declined any and all applications for lifted transport to be involved in any way shape or form in the trip to Queensland this weekend...Jack_Sparrow wrote:You know you want to bring it. Give in to the inner child (sorry Maccas)
Stinky, I still have a heap to write up anyway since the adaptor plate....

Hi thanks all for the praise, this car is far less dodgy than the last one I did. More income to play with doesn't go astray!!!!
As for the insurance thing, I am not really sure how it is going to work...
I am insured with NRMA, ie everything is with them, I may just have to pull out the whole "insure it or I take all my business elsewhere" routine, not that my business would really count for much in their market.....
Might be lucky though...
