rear window wiper question

Post by not12listen » Sun Nov 02, 2008 8:30 am

here in the US, we do not have the option of the rear wiper, which is shown below on an Impreza Classic.

firstly, does subaru autralia get this as an option? is it standard equipment? and, how difficult would it be to ship the entire assembly to the US?

many thanks!

Same applies with the Liberty, i remember talking to a person at the Perth car show 3 years ago about the Liberty Blitzen, which was yet to be released yet. He said this is the overseas varient, i said what the differences, he said rear windscreen wiper. Thats all.

Some dumb law loophole or something here not allowing certain vehicles from not having a rear windsheild wiper on the rear window or something, kinda dumb because isnt it better to have the ability to clear the rear window in different weather conditions.

It might be a requirement for some Euro countries. eg. some of the German L Series had adjustable level headlights, some need rear foglight.

I thought they were mainly intended for removal of snow.

i think the most important detail is whether the the rear glass is the same or not...

unfortunately, i dont have the details or part numbers for the rear glass for the coupe version. :/

This seems to be the best place to ask this question. My car is a 96 GX impreza hatch. I have fitted the full running gear and loom from a 98 WRX sedan to my car. Anyone have a wiring diagram so I can wire up my rear wiper? Any tips? I have the wiper stalk from a 98 WRX in it just not sure if I need to find the pin from the stalk and run to the motor, or if I need relays etc. Do I need to run power to the stalk or is that provided from the front wiper power?
