Yes I don't think there is any way at all to tackle this legally.

But illegally can quite often be just as satisfying :D

Yeah I tell you what, if I was wearing a hat indoors whilst surfing an internet forum I would have done the same. Sad stuff when something so rare is ruined by complete dullards.

On a serious note, have you witnessed the car at their wreckers yard? Is it possible they recognised it for what it is and are pulling a swifty?

Hows this for another far out incident that also happened recently in Perth.
A bloke leaves his work ute a secure carpark at the airport, and some dude rocks up and says he's his mate, and had permission to take the vehicle out for work while he was away. The security go ok and give him the keys.
The owner comes back, freaks out that its now gone, and little recourse on how to get it back etc, even to the fact that knowone knew he was going away? Thats another shitty story without a happy ending.

You are not alone in this sort of deed being done by this sort of person with a truck and a crane, better known as shit4brains or dumbasdogshit.

Same stupid thing happened a coupla years ago with a Turbo Cordia , to a young guy near me, with all the good bits in it. Very little recompense in that case too !

What so the police said cars locked away in people garages are fair game for steel scrappers if they say it was an accident? You say take one they take em all and the coppers cant do anything? Thats a croc. How much would the steel in a hatch be worth? Come close to $500?

Rumour has it... the scrappers re-sold the car for $200 to someone to make a buggy out of. So the metal value to them must be less than that.
