B R U M B Y owners, in here please

Just wondering what SUBARU badge appears in the recess on the right hand side of your tailgate. I had my tailgate repaired and resprayed so the badge came off first. It was SUBARU GL - I reckon that came off a sedan not a Brumby and the correct Brumby badge should simply be SUBARU. Both are same length, just smaller letters on the GL badge

thanks, Jonno

Mine just has SUBARU. The GL and DL designations were more used in the US market, so I guess Subaru Japan just used whatever was available at the time after the Brat was discontinued over there (1987).

The US market all have BRAT on theirs and all the ones I've seen have had Brat 4x4 which would have a nice ring on a lifted EJ brumby!
87 targa brumby (Neglected),
92 targa brumby (weekend runabout),
97 Lifted Outback (Dailey drive),
05 outback safety (Too cheap to pass up),
90 model liberty (was to be scrapped instead sold to workmate)
+ others.

thanks all, so it may be ridgey didge. maybe a difference between single [SUBARU] and twin headlight [SUBARU GL] models ?

Now that'd be a nice item to import from the US - a BRAT 4x4 badge !

I think that's the sticker only, the badge is either SUBARU DL or SUBARU GL for the US model.

I had a quad light 89 and it just had "Subaru" there. I've seen many with Subaru GL though,

Sunnie is a quad light with targa roof - the rear badge is Subaru GL. This will be changed one day to simply SUBARU, got that badge off the back of an MY touring wagon...

Cheers
