EE20 Single EGR and twin EGR engine diffrences

Post by TOONGA » Sat Dec 24, 2022 2:47 pm

I would like to know the difference between the Single EGR engine 2008 to 2012 and the twin EGR engine 2013 to 2019.

There are plenty of Twin EGR engines available but I keep getting told you can't put one in a 2010 TD forester.

9 months later and I'm still compiling info on this subject.

eventually I will have a list of differences between the Euro6 engine and the Euro5 engine. It isn't a big list but there are a few differences

there are not a great deal of differences that I have found but they are enough for the engines not to be a straight swap.

euro5 to euro6 differences

alternator belt tensioner is different

Glow plugs on the euro6 are 7 volt euro4 ad euro5 are 12 volt

euro5 has a semi closed deck E6 has an open deck

euro6 has 2 EGRs

The Later E5 and all of the E6 engines Have a honeywell turbo

euro6 has one more fuel regulator on the rail

crank position sensors may differ

suction control valve may differ

not confirmed but the euro6 may have different injectors
