Clear coat

I have just bought my first Subaru [2005 Liberty sedan]. I read somewhere that the clear coat on Subarus it a bit thin for Oz UV. The paint is in very good condition atm but it will be parked outside while my wife is at work. Apart from keeping the car clean and waxed is there any product to help slow the loss of the clear coat?
