1/4 mile vids...fwd fury in the auto lib

Cut and paste from RSlib forums, has all the info and links hopefully !

Went down tonight with a rough tune on the girl....boost set to 1.1bar. Quick and dirty tune in the PFC for the 700cc injectors(thanks heaps Ken), datalogging showed AFR`s in high tens to low 11`s....good enough for now as I wanted to see if the tranny would hold its mustard...it didn`t !

Rear transfer clutch seems fubar, coated the LHF innner guard with track rubber and spun the front wheels well into 2nd gear...crap 60 foot times.

Still managed [email protected] with a 2.158 60' !

Had 3 runs(actually 4 but the first was with the switch in FWD....doh !, gave up after it spun into 3rd at ~1/4 track and roller down for a 17.somthing)

Run mph time 60'

1 106.76 13.523 2.416
2 106.38 13.309 2.257
3 106.63 13.223 2.158

Plenty of potential there...need to get the tranny fixed, a proper tune with desired boost level(1.5-1.6bar...22psi) and then I`ll be back !

...cutting vids now, upload shortly.

Heres the vids - enjoy.......first was with tranny stalled to ~3K(wheel spin city...), next run I only stalled it to ~2500 or less to stop front end break`n out, 3rd and fastest run was stalled to sfa and short shifted into 2nd to try get some grip.

Damn she pulls like an animal thru the middle..... goes hard for 1.1 bar(peaked 1.18 for the night).

Car wieghted in at 1454 kg(lard asss leather electrics!).....with-out me....1549kg with me in it, that calculates out to ~280hp+ atw to pull 106.6mph thru the traps with that much lard......trap speed is good for 12sec easy. hpatw calculation is based on a manual, so its obviously skewed for an auto......or are suabru autos actually that good...and my car making that much power !? Horsepower calculator has always been dead acurate in the past....

Oh well...time for the vids !

13.52
13.30
13.22

Enjoy

Excellent speed there. I would have thought it would be high 12's with that terminal speed. It shows it is coming home strong. 60 foot times aren't too bad either.

Edit: should have read your post right through first.

I have to come see this car some time Justin. Seems its running a little quicker than when I drove it.... it's on the EJ20R now right?

Yep, EJ20R all the way......much more happy having boosty jammed into it that any EJ20G.....revs nice(no point tho since auto wants to shift up at ~6800 !)

....the EJ20G went pretty well with the VF30 too...but this is kick arse !

Not really, stuffed a couple of ignition maps through it but I reset it the other day. Putting in the big squirters tomorrow, got a bit of a day planned for it providing I don't go out to the pub tonight :D :D

Keen on seeing the datalogit, how much did it cost you? The notebook I'm posting from at the moment will soon find its way into my car.

Don`t worry mate, as a director of epic adventures and real life amazing stories ! :P myself I`m pretty hard on my camera crew..... and for the last hoorah of the night(fastest time, where I knew I was having fwd gearbox issues) I did instruct the film crew run a narrow angle close shot, from the left side, to diagnose wheel spin.....special instruction allowing loss of xmas tree from the frame !

...Another contributing factor is the crew loves to sneek a few burbons in to keep the interest up between runs 8) ...while I sit in the staging lanes shitting the shoot with the fellow racers(interesting bunch !)
