aahhh...thats some fimiliar looking country!!! its great to see somebody else has gone the whole step and gone up there as well....its some of the most pristine countryside ive ever seen...love those pics as well
yeah, walked out to the island on the left to see how deep it was .
when 2 toyota's rocked up i watched the first one, water was just under their towball so i went next.with all the heavy vehicles the river stones are lower than the edges look.maybe 40cm at deepest.
the engine temp gauge went right down from the cool water flowing over exhaust headers and lower radiator.
nice little bow wave in front as i went through in 1st low.
have just had uni joints replaced.
after several creek crossings i hope the wheel bearings are not going to need replacing soon, maybe some regreasing is needed.
oh yes, the north west country, I don't remember that QVHead, but must have past it?
whereabouts is it?
I don't think I missed any gorge...spending whole days at some...lol thinking of the tourist groups...they'd blow in, spend an hour and off they go again...what a dismal way to enjoy it.
should go again.........
The QV head is near the Derby end of Gibb River Rd.
About 15 km's east of the Fairfield Leopold Downs Rd turnoff.
Was good having a swim and then keeping cool for hours in the warm weather with damp clothes.
