Awwww crap, this is a real shame :(
Buy after a decade of wins what else do they have to prove?
I give it 5-7years before they achieve what they want to on the hard stuff before they come back to the gravel.

Dont worry guys, a couple of hours fiddling last night and its now all good :D :D I think I might of had only one tine of the fork located and the other one not catching the "hook" so when the bearing was loaded up it was twisted and jambed. Took the car for a "test drive" last night afterwards.... ...

Its not bad considering it was based on the 350Z, but without the engine/drivetrain/preformance numbers to back up the pics its a bit hard to compare with the old zilla's. R32 is IMHO by far the best - easily workable and while the styling was not as steriod induced I kinda like that, its the "sleep...

Took the clutch etc down to a specialist clutch place and engaged the wisdom of the resident 60+ year old expert - Les. It seems that when the adaption was made for the cable clutch a short (~4cm) extension was added to the end of the fork. This was to allow a bit more purchace above the pivot point...

Calling Vidler

Does anyone know were Vidler is? I have been trying to get in contact with him via this board about some Bilstein shocks he was selling on the old board, but I have not had a reply.

Cheers - Shaun

How do I know if my flywheel has been machined too much?

WRX flywheel in EJ20T Rally car, pulled apart to replace clutch as it was out of adjustment, ie very hard downshifts (2 hands + crunch) and slipping when on boost. Was expecting to pull it appart and see a clutch plate "down to the rivits" but it was less than half worn!! Preasure plate looks fine a...

Yeah - the old man has a 96 RSB which is fun to drive. Clutch has good feel to it.

The rally car is a WRX flywheel, and twin turbo pull type clutch (1200pd preasure plate) so it is VERY heavy on a cable clutch. Just the combo of a heavy plate and short throw distance.

Cheers spittin_teeth,

I dont need to worry about the hydraulic clutch stuff, the car runs the standard RX cable setup, just uses a custom bracket, talk about heavy though 8O
Good tip on the thrust bearing, I needed an excuse to buy one of those long screwdrivers anyway

Clutch replacement on EJ20T L series

I need to replace the clutch in my rally car before the next meet on the 30th so was planning to attack it this weekend. I was planning to do this the same way i have done all subaru clutchs by removing the engine and working on it on the floor. However this time I have a couple of differances.... T...
