You don't see too many Targa's around these days + it's getting harder to find trim bits for too ! ... :( P.S - One of the first things I did was put on some spare headlight cover's that I had laying around : http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v470/Bantum69/Auto/Subaru%2086%20Brum...

Yeah, when I got my Brumby someone had already placed a set of 6x9's in the back ( loose in box, behind seat ) As for sound quality - it helps a little with staging + with a bit of base - but I can't recommend it. ( Sorry I don't have any Pic's of this ) As Alex stated - you'd be better off going fo...

Clarification ...
You guys know it was called 'shift on the fly' (at least in the US) for a reason right? You do not have to use the clutch and according to my old '78 wagon's sticker you can put it in 4wd below 80 Km per hour... (But in those days you had to point the wheels straight!). So, no you do not have to st...

A few other tips for you: - Make sure all the screws holding the shroud / cover in place are secure, so it doesn't move when you actualy use the indicator. - Don't force it - if it won't go, it's becasue the striker is clashing - Just turn the wheel a bit more for it to engage. - If you are still ha...

Caution ...
Do you snap off the original one that's still good or just push this piece of brass over the top of it? Cheers Bennie All good to leave in place, as it will melt when you press the brass angle into it with the iron. Just go easy with the iron & don't leave it on for too long, or you'll end up with ...

Return Strike ...
Only if it is required ... ( it seem's to be made of sterner stuff ) Other wise if it has worn down, I would do what you suggested + pad it out with a bit of plastic.RSR 555 wrote:Very cool. What about where the brass strip strikes against? Would you do that bit too?

Now comes the tricky bit ... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v470/Bantum69/Auto/Subaru%2086%20Brumby/Steering%20Column/Photo0314.jpg You need to get your trusty soldering iron ( bigger the better ) + basically get the iron up to the right temperature ( not too hot or every thing goes to shit ), lo...

No doubt some of you will have tried various methods - This one involves getting hold of some brass 3mm angle stock ( I got mine from a local hobby shop ) ... Calibration ...
The circuit is calibrated for 2 x 21w stop lamps, 42 watts = 3.5 amps. Any deviation from this will cause the failure lamp to light up. It should be noted that the circuit rating varies between models, I have a Touring wagon (1983) where the same thing happens if you use the higher rated globe, so ...

Yeah, thanks. However - don't look too close as the paint job is crap ( who ever re-sprayed it before I got it did a terrible job with crack's appearing everywhere, especially on the bonnet - I think they tried to dry it too fast ) + the usual rust starting to appear, a major job to fix. This was ta...

Hi - I've also been considering what to do with the 'unatractive' area around the mirror, so when I saw this I thought "I'm interested in one too", but now wondering if they would fit a Brumby with a 'targa' roof ? - It looks a bit too wide & I'm not sure if it would fit between the openings. ( but ...
