I cant see how

The egr which is designed to reduce no2 emissions caused by high combustion temps, only operates when the car is cruising, and it cuts out under acceleration.

But then again i could be wrong

Another thing,.. If you have a 89 MPFI loom, you will need a ea82t motor that came from a car built after mid 1987, also known as 4 plug ecu or the hotwire style MAF (mass air flow) . Turbo motors built between 1984 and july 1987 were the 3 plug, flapper style maf and are not compatable with your mp...

Odd sized tyres on an EA FT4WD would actually give a different torque split, for example say 60/40 - front/rear as opposed to the original 50/50

I believe that the XT6 had a 90A alternator, (the l series uses a 60A doesnt it?)

I also have a part number for a 90A altenator that came with the rally spec RX turbo's. but i dont think that it was avaliable to the general public.

I went to the local parts store and an ACL VRS kit was about $250, the guy said that he has never had any troubles with acl head gaskets (not subaru) before. Other than Genuine gaskets, wha...

It could be your TPS (throttle position switch) its a potentiometer, like a volume control that tells the ecu how open your throttle is. this can cause a dead spot in the throttle.

I didnt think that a 89 mpfi had a vac line to the disty, there should be no vac advance, its computer controlled. unless you have a
84-86 turbo motor in your 89 tourer

Try looking for vac leaks, around the intake piping and on vac lines as well, as vac leaks will cause bad idle.

The crank angle sensor is part of your distributor, it tells the ecu that the engine is turning.

Check the connections at the disty and then if that doesnt help, try another disty

I dont have my fsm on me at the moment so thats all i can help
