If you look closely at the dual carbs and manifold on eBay at the moment you will see that it is from a EA71 not EA81. The manifold will be too short for an EA81.littlewhiteute wrote:Yes, I know of that set, I'm very keen on it.

Other thing - Jack the car on blocks because sometimes depending on tyre brands can cause un-even tyre (will take a while to get back to normal and its bumpy ride) when you drive when you get back. Cheers AP Hmmm... not sure where I read this, however, modern tyres with their different rubber compo...

Have to agree with cooloothin. Subies are tough! My 78 wagon sat in my parents garage for 5 years. Never did anything special expect start it every now and then. Only ever keep a couple of dollars worth of fuel in the tank so it could be started. Once I put it back on the road I changed all the flui...

You couldnt get a rig like that registered here in OZ could ya...?!? I think it would certainly be possible. Cost a lot I would think and it would be best to contact an engineer before you started to see what was required. There where some old Conformadores in the 1980s that had Hilux chassis bolte...

Bent Desert Rat!
While my 78 wagon was in for some work that I was to lazy to do myself, my mechanic (OK it's REX :-D ) informed me that one of my 14x6 Speedy Desert Rat rims was buckled  Sure enough it was! At $65 they are cheap to buy, however, I am interested in others experiences/opinions. Has anyone e...

[quote="LTurbo"] Also what about the wheels? thinking I will paint them again, what colour do you reckon to go with dark green? It will probably get superlights eventually so I'll just stick with these wheels for now. Just thought I would add my 2 cents, the green is great! It really suits the angul...

Cheers for that sublime. Did the early 1970's subaru run the EA71 engine aswell though? OK LTurbo some facts! Subarus from July 1973, which is when they were offically sold Australia wide as opposed to the pervious efforts, were equiped with EA63 (1400cc) or EA63S (1400cc with twin carb.) Early Sub...

Are you dead set sure of this suparoo (just for my own knowledge)? I had presumed the EA71 engines were used in the 71-78 model you mentioned at the top of you post. Suparoo is right, MY series from 79 had the EA71. In fact the first Subarus in Aust. to have the EA81 engines were equiped with autom...

Thought I would add the following which I originally posted to a question in the Wanted section. There is a company that sells new ignition switches (that is everthing - the lock, keys and switch. I do not think they sell the switch on its own for Subarus) called NICE Products. REPCO sells their gea...

Are there any GSR coupes left in Aussie? The one we have is the only 72 left on the road in NZ. That is a really good question! I doubt if there is many left at all. There certainly would not be any 72 models in Aust. as they were only sold from halfway through 1973. They were only sold in Japan fro...
