i think the price difference is due to 2 things.
firstly the dealer will likely charge more per hour labour then a service centre.
secondly the dealer will likely use genuine parts, rather then the after market parts that the service centre quoted you

i have the same thing in my forester. it was a lot worse with my old engine and have delt with it in same way by prssing on the clutch. the new engine is not as bad but still does it, but in saying that i could have just gotton used to it. it does make you look like a total manual newby in the car p...

Could be a couple of things I would first check the aerial connection. I know in the foresters they have a booster behind the radio. Check that if you end up replacing the head unit.

probably more so due to the geometry of the car. i used to hate sitting in the back on the my father in laws 07 liberty because it was so harsh, yet in the front was a very comfortable car.

the torque on the plug shouldn't be that great so the close enough is good enough worked for me. when i un-done the plug there was no chance of stripping the plug as the fitment was very close.

nice ramps i got a set from repco 4x4 ones. cost only $103 so couldnt complain

Thanks mate :) Thunder, why dont you give Frog a call too. He works at a Subaru dealership, knows his stuff & is more than helpful! Yeah, great ability offroad but they dont seem to be too reliable...what do you expect for something made in the US...I'd only get something made in Japan or Germany ;...

been on the phone all day and my best options is to replace the whole diff as its unlikely the drive shaft is the issue, rather the gear inside the diff that holds it in there

called a few wreckers and apparently there is two types of drive shafts that were used. also when i called repco that asked whether it was a SG9 or SGK. can anyone shed some light :confused:
