Disc Rotor reccomendations - Gen3 Outback

So guys i think my Gen3 outbacks rotors may be warped/had it. Braking at high speeds i get really bad shuddering in the steering wheel, i'm guessing its the rotors, and if so can anyone recommend where to get good quality replacements? I've been looking at ones on ebay (approx $100 for a pair). Wond...

Hey mate are you losing water/coolant? If you just have water in it, I'd add some coolant concentrate, that way you can smell it when it leaks out and easier to spot when leaking. Also when refilling make sure all air is bled out of the system. I had a overheating problem with my L series that plagu...

7 seater outback?

Okay guys, i may be going crazy. But last week i was driving and sware to god i saw a 7 seater Gen3 outback. I myself have an 01 gen3 outback, so i always checkout the other gen3's. Driving past and i'm fairly sure i saw an outback with 3 rows of car seats and had 2 kids in the boot, facing the fron...

Currently own an 01 outback, had an 88 L series carby. The L series was the best car i ever had, great vision, amazing turning circle, went everywhere i ever wanted, just an awesome car. It would be perfect if it had the EJ25 from my outback in it >:) I love the comfortability of the outback, the po...

I sold my 1988 L series for $900 a month ago. Had 330,000km's on the clock and 3 months rego. Yours sounds in much better condition and alot less KM's (for a 91' car that IS low KM's, my outback is an 01 and has 200,000km's which is average). I'd say anywhere from 1k-2k. As others said, it is an old...

Installed aftermarket (well my father in law pretty much did) keyless entry system to my outback gen3. Original keyless entry wasn't working, ended up wiring up one off ebay and works great!

I got quoted $200 for a guy to come out and replace my windscreen on my 01 outback the other day. I'd ring around.

Thunder, i believe the 01 Outbacks came with a Duall Mass flywheel. Had my cousin who is a plant mechanic have a look at it the other day, he drove it and it happened to him, he seems to think its definitely not fuel/spark related and also thinks its the more then likely the clutch, but i should che...

Hi GTFOZZY, i recently purchased an 01 GEN3 Outback Manual. i made a similar thread awhile before purchasing, it might be of help, some great posts from outback owners on what to look for when buying. http://ausubaru.com.au/showthread.php?t=22303 From what i gathered these are common problems: Clutc...

My Gen 3 Outback was fine until I needed a new clutch and replaced the dual mass flywheel with a solid one. I noticed straight away the gearbox making more noise under acceleration and jerking when going down hills in low gears or backing off the accelerator. Sometimes it would also jerk a little u...

Davidov, not to sure about a noise. Only noise i really notice is the fuel pump when turning the car on, will listen next time with the bonnet open upon turning the car off. Some good suggestions, already cleaned the IACV a week ago, i'll clean it again although this time will get a can of Subaru Up...

I think you might be referring to "jerky" feel in low revs in gears - I did have that issue in my gen2 Liberty as well got used to it... Swap MAP sensor Air Control unit on the airbox see how it goes... Cheers AP By swap do you mean is there 2 MAP sensors in the car that i can swap around? or would...

I got that in my gen 3 as well if i understand you correctly. For example crawling around in a carpark, if i come off the accelerator the car will lurch/buck. Makes carpark driving quite uncomfortable. Never bothered to look into it but. Yeh David sounds like the exact problem I'm encountering, mos...
