I adjusted the bands a couple of small amounts but still loss of drive when hot.

A young friend may be in need of a lift from coffs to Brisbane on or before the 14th if possible.....if anyone can help if your going that way.....cheers bill.

Seem to have had a win....thanks heaps.....will put it in for a service but at least its working again.

Fulcrum or repco.I would pull the lot out in one go.makes linning things up easier.

No I have never adjusted the bands but was about to ask how....cheers for that...since I sufferd a little brain damage due to that opp I had I forget things I use to know really well.....I'll let you know how I go.

The fluid was darker red but its hot new stuff in it now

Would over filling it cause loss of drive at times...I can drive it but after 10 minutes it starts to loose drive but if I stop,turn it off and let it settle down I get drive back.then the same thing in 10 minutes again.

I lost my book and can't remember things...how much fluid does an ej22 auto hold.cheers...bill

Yeah I don't know if it would be worth the effort.just never seen it done.that EA coupe that was on here with the 13b rotary was a great setup.

Thanks guys.I found it.the torque convertor being finger tight let the convertor move while running just enough the it hit the teeth on the starter.I could not move it by hand tho.

Ok I pulled the engine out with help from zita and the dogs.I found the torque converter bolts finger barely finger tight.I can't see any hit marks but sounded like something rattling.

Sounds a bit odd.there are some dishonest people out there so anything is possible.check all over the gearbox for any sign of paint or however small,red or yellow.new parts are never marked.it'd common practice to charge new parts and use secondhand or reco.if you had not said it was new I would be ...
