Ended up getting time to pull the wires off the drier, used a lead to join them together and started the car.
Both the fans started up when the cabin fan was switched on and the A/C button pushed so all is well.

Went to take the MY for a drive and noticed tell tale CV grease on the front driver side firewall. I have done this before too but if for some reason the car wants to run on (lots of reasons for this) you have to basically stall it to make it stop.
I will get to the bottom of this just dont know how yet.
