Cant speak for exhaust mods on the the L series as I didn't modify mine when I had the 88 model but I have sorted my 82 MY EA81 by modifying the air cleaner. Excellent sound with basic exhaust minus the muffler on the Y section after the engine. Very "grunty" when excellerator pedal pushed. Luv it.;

For anyone still following this post I have now spent all week swapping 14" wheels around the car and mixing them up with the alloy 13" wheels and testing the car going to and from work each day. I was very surprised to find with the 14's on the front and the 13's on the rear all problems GONE. !, n...

MY front suspension swap over

All As my 5th month 1982 MY 4WD touring wagon is a daily driver I am interested in picking up a pair of front struts/spring/brake disc and hub. In other words the whole lot to do up and swap over when I get time. My local wreckers only have an 83 or 84 MY Leone 2WD and 4 Brumbys of various years. Do...

OMG !!!!
How amazing are these figures.
My MY 1982 touring wagon only has 236,666 k's and they are original too.
No wonder people say at 250,000 and the motor is just run in.
Be nice to have our KIA Carnival do the same figures (yer right)

OK here is what I have learnt/know so far. I believe the road vibration is due to the front tires being worn somehow as the front to rear swap sorted things in this department. I now feel any further issues with vibration are due to the tires and alignment issues. (alignment, a whole new problem as ...

Thanks all for the replies. The rims holes all appear fine with no elongations, the center hole is certainly bigger than the locating spigot of the hub which is only relevant on the front as the rear hub does not appear to have any locating spigot at all. I have swapped the front to the rear etc wit...

Identifying steel rims and other problems

I have a set of 5 steel rims that I would call Sunraysia or Speedy type for my MY wagon. I picked them up from the local wrecker and I cant find a brand name on them anywhere. On the inside of the rim they have written: 6JJx14 94 d 14 F Made in Taiwan ROC Are these Speedys and what does the ROC mean...

Thanks all for the warm welcome. I will be as consistent as possible with posts but due to wife, 4 kids, work etc, will try to catch up when able. I have put some pics of my poor neglected MY in the photo section of the form under "Cliff's MY wagon". hope this is the right way to do this. These pics...

Hi all My name is Cliff and as a "watcher" for a while decided to post a message. I'm from the Upper Hunter region west of Newcastle in NSW. I have been driving for 30 years and about 17 cars later have settled down to Subaru's. My first Subaru was an 88 L series wagon with dual range 4WD and my cur...
