Is this the Jayd i know? Is this the car i looked at mate?
Im happy to have another play with it... can try the scan tool on it again and see if there is any new codes.

Is it a fault we are likely to be able to simulate?

Jarrahdale is very heavily blocked off now days... been up there a few times recently and the council have done a good job of keeping people out. We couldn't find our way in and i know the area rather well. :(

Im going to watch this thread. Cofffin Bay was my wife and I's favourite place when we travelled around Australia... We just wished we could have stayed there longer. Probably wouldnt be taking a Subaru if we went but im sure the Subaru guys from WA would travel easier having an Auto Electrician tag...

I towed a camper trailer around oz in my 01 gt foz. Towed fine. Trailer weighed about 1000kg I think and car fully loaded with cargo on a roof cage too. It's a pop top similar to the small jayco pop tops u see. Rear shock and springs were shagged after towing for 24 000km and the AC could not be run...

Was the Mass air flow sensor. Turn car off.. Unplug it... Restart car and test drive. This made my car run great.

Bought $15 can of MAF sensor cleaner from the car shop an gave it a light scrap with a cable tie and it fixed it. Obviously plug it back in.

Kwinana offroad area is ok..Thomas rd at Patterson Rd end. But be prepared to have to outrun the railway guards. Dried up mud pit/lake off Thomas Ed freeway end. Not sand but great to wreck your car doing donuts. And there are tracks behind Dixon Rd with a big sand pit. We used to call it "the bowl"...

Yes very busy. Working full time as an auto electrician and doing cash jobs mainly on Subarus on the weekends. I have enough cash work for all of January and Febuary I recon.
If work keeps up I may open my own mobile auto electrical business in 2013.

Have u checked the more obvious. Could it be a faulty key barrel or imobiliser fault. Should have lights and stuff on the dash even without a coil and dizzy. I would check battery connections, check earth connections (even use a jumper cable from the neg battery to Body - not engine) fusible links, ...

Unlikely to be imobiliser. Sounds like a flasher relay fault to me. Try the hazard lights and see if the indicators flash with them. I forget if the indicator flasher relay is the same as the hazard flasher relay on that model.
