Hey Tom, Congrats on the purchase, lovely car! My 2c worth of advice, don't even consider other options, get yourself a brand new radiator and just replace it. It's easy to do and gives you peace of mind. Either get a new OEM one, a reputable aftermarket option or best of all, a full alloy radiator...

That's the plan bennie, and yeah I figured it would be, when I sorted the rust out I noticed some perfectly round holes around the base of the sill so I left them as they were.

Oh it's been a long time since I've updated this... The surging issue came back about 3 months ago so I got the shits and finally just sprayed the hell out of all the fuel lines with a compressor. When I got back to the tank and took the pump feed line off it was just trickling like a pensioners old...

03/04 Outback Offroad Tyres

Hey all, I've been away for a bit looking for cars :D but I'm back. Anyways. I'm after a 3L outback (04 shape/model) and I've found one, just looking at what size tyres I can stick on it with a lift kit. So, what are the biggest tyres anyone has fitted to a gen 2 (?) outback with a 3 or 4 inch lift ...

Speaking of wrx conversions, see if you can find one or something similar on Pickles etc since you can grab a whole car for less than a front cut and use interior bits etc. Finding one with a good engine is the trick. I've been chasing an EJ205 recently for a Brumby conversion but it's been slow goi...

Aluminium every time, whatever you can get really, it pretty much all acts as a heat-sink. +1 for the sheeting Steptoe. If you can get away with it, rip some headunits apart, they all have a nice big chunk of aluminium on the ass end that you can hack the teeth off, which acts wonders, also easy to ...

27x8.50R14 NANKANG A/T They're the ones I use on my RX, I'm pretty happy with them, bit better road grip than the Kumhos. I get them from Bob Jane, fitted and balanced for $149 each. Bob Jane also sell the Kumho Muddies described above for $169. Cheers, Tom. EDIT: Don't know what prices they'll be i...

Toonga's on it, steering rack would be my first check too. Stock engine? Could be torque steer if you're running a more powerful engine than stock but that's far less likely. If all else fails I'd be getting the front up on stands and running it to see what might be moving when it shouldn't. Cheers,...
