Sounds like you had your options list the wrong way round ;) Not sure what costs of a large shed would be (but this is negligible because you want to build one anyway), so the costs of building a bathroom and an open plan living area wouldn't be too bad. My guess would be less than 10k. Probably jus...

I would go with option 1 but get approval. My suggestion would be build a large shed with "living quarters" inside :-D

I use the EA shifter and just weld up the bottom stay off the EJ box on to the EA one. The top EA selector rod connects straight up to the EJ box. Hydro setup? Never used a water one... hahahaha.. jokes but sorry no pics of any hydraulic ones, as I've kept the cable setup and use the later model EJ2...

Bugger, that makes it harder. Hopefully you can still get year of manufacture off the seat belts?

Yeah, never seen any black interior wagons in Aus and even my old JDM 1990 Turbo L wagon had the grey interior but was very plush.

I haven't seen a compliance plate on any JDM pre Legacy cars. From memory they only have a little tag on the firewall with the vin number and 2 other info but cannot remember what they were off the top of my head.

Have you got any pics of the interior? I might have some bits lying around

Oh.. seems odd. I have not had to modify any L.Series tunnels on any of the EJ conversions I've done. I wonder what they were doing that was different?

With the clutch setup, I've been able to use the push clutches from the later wrx models.

For ID purposes, there is usually a sticker or part number stamped on the box ... Feel free to suggest any that I've missed or corrections to be made ... :) Early models (i.e. EA powered models) do not have the id sticker on them but I have some info in some Factory Workshop Manuals if ever needed.
