Air filter box. Aluminium or steel?

I have been using that little open chrome filter on my Weber 32/36 and it was good in the winter. Now in the summer, the carb is getting too hot when the car is not moving. I will adapt the stock blue filter box to fit the carb with a hose taking air in near the headlight. I have cut the bottom out ...

The tyres I have on the fron now are 185 wide if I remember correctly, on stock style speedy wheels. I put them there because they are the most matched pair I have. One might be out of round though, making a wobble. It is not too bad, I am fine with it for now and I will change it if I need to go in...

I lubed the strut tops, I am not sure if that made a difference. I swapped left and right tyres, that made it always pull left but more so after turning left. I swapped front to back (the back tyres are a fair bit wider) and I think it still pulls left a little but the steering wheel shakes and the ...

5 4x140 14" steel wheels in SA

I would like a set of 5 14" steel wheels, sunnies or somthing similar.
I am not interested in tyres or something in mint condition. They just need to be round, have no cracks and no serious rust.
Please PM me if you have anything

The springs don't look like they are broken. Maybe they are turning because there is too much friction on the top "bearing"? I could try greasing it like steptoe suggested. I am not sure why running the engine would help, but I did go under the car and have someone steer and everything seemed good e...

Thanks for all the advice. All the rubbers are in good order, they are urethane except for the LCA ones which the mechanic also looked at and said it was good. I replaced the ball joints on the LCAs. There is no noticable play in the steering rack, could there still be a problem with it? It has had ...

Car goes left after making a left turn

1984 MY. I noticed that the car would pull to the left after making a left turn, but go pretty much straight after making a right turn. I checked the wheels for play, there was a little bit in one so I regreased the bearing and tightened the nut. That got rid of the play. There was play in one of th...

Looking good , still Very envious of the the rear bumper, would hand over a 2" lift kit for that in a heartbeat ;) looks very similar to this one on a "L' in Vic Thanks. As much as I would like one, I can't give up the bumper. It is actually for an L, you can see it doesn't sit quite flush with the...

I have worked out how to make the pictures smaller now. I have the correct adapter plate now and the choke is working. All the vacuum hoses are gone now, even the vac advance (the diaphragm was leaking and set the car on fire and I have not found a new one that doesn't leak). It runs great though, i...

This weekend I put a weber 32/36 on my car Before: http://i.imgur.com/5ywZFIF.jpg Old and new: http://i.imgur.com/D2BsyqD.jpg Though the adaptor plate I got was for an EA81 engine, apparently 1984 EA81s have a large hole on the manifold, like the EA82, so I couldn't use it. I did have a home made ad...

Weird, I am not sure how they did it. The springs were always at the lowest. Maybe something was put together the wrong way before and they fixed it. It had lots of positive camber (probably over 10 degrees) and now it is just around 1 degree. They told me they could get rid of the positive camber b...

I don't mid if that is how it is supposed to be, I just want everything to be how it should. I go to all the u-pull-it yards pretty often getting parts for my Subaru and Datsun, Gillman is very near my house and work. There are some interesting Subarus there, including a 1st gen Leone and a wagon wi...

Positive camber on front wheels?

My '84 Subaru has the front subframe replaced not long before I bought it. When I got it, it had quite a bit of positive camber on the front. I took it to the alignment shop and they got it down to just over 1 degree by adjusting it as far as it could go. Are there different sizes of subframe or LCA...

I am planning to buy one, do they really come with everything you need? Also, it looks to me like the fuel return port is blanked off. Is this a problem when using an electric fuel pump?

Kevin Continued - My 1984 Leone

Last november I flew to Bendigo and drove this car home to Adelaide. I have not done too much with in since, just some basic maintenance and repairs. I also got some new wheels and a sun visor. It has an EA81 engine, dual range 4 speed manual, aluminium bumpers, UHF radio and custom exhaust. Future ...

Those in the picture are close enough to what I want.
Thanks for the link, I have messaged them. So far I have tried contacting 3 sellers, and they didn't respond and the ads were taken down. I have been searching gumtree, but these didn't have the word "wheel" in the ad so I didn't find it.

I am after 13". Later on I might be after some sunraysia style wheels, but now they have to be the standard Subaru wheels that are pressed in a convex shape. I will pay around $150 for a good set of 5, but if they have rust I will only need 3. Thanks

Thanks, but that would probably be a few hundred dollars to get them over. I appreciate the offer though. If you know of cheap transport though, let me know.

I don't mind rust stains, but shouldn't have much rust.
5 would be good, but 4 or however many you have is ok.
I don't mind if the tires are there or not, or if they are bald.
