There was one particularly steep one that it hit pretty hard and snapped off, but it was worth it because hardly any 4WDs could even make it up, there was only me, the Land Rover and a GU with lockers from what I saw. Land Rover, Patrol and what - a Subaru! Love it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

EOI: 4x140 to 5x100 bolt pattern adapters

Perhaps I could loan you one for the greater good. It would be a good option for spares.

What parts did you have to collect to do the rear hand brake on the xbread kit?
Would it be the same for XT6 hubs with WRX brakes on a brumby? Sweet looking brumby by the way.

xt6 hubs after a lick of caliper paint. Does anyone know what the 5 big holes are for? Heat dissipation?

If you see one of those little black plastic plugs that fill the hole in brumby chrome tub skirting between tail gate and body, please grab me one.

I lived in Ireland and France for a while, never saw a brumby. There are a lot of Subaru grey imports in Ireland, typically the fast ones -I had a tuned B4 RSK when I was there, sweet car that I sold for nothing :-( . The French highway patrol had Wrx's, very few elsewhere because of the tax system....

would these benefit a lowered brumby? (running a X-Bread kit) If you are using brumby control arms yes, I believe so. Even if you have longer (L series) control arms it would still probably improve handling. More positive castor equals more negative camber when cornering equals more precise handlin...

Why older Subarus

Why do people like older Subarus?
Me, I like the frameless windows, the burble, the genuine off-road/ difficult road ability and the individual and functional, albeit sometimes quirky, styling.
What do you like?

How did you go about getting the XT6 hubs out of the US? Got a contact your willing to pm? I've been hunting around for one of the options for brake upgrades for my Brumby, be it the RX 4 stud rears, the X bread kit, or XT6 based solution. I sent a PM, I like the Subaru factory solution. Maybe we need to re-invoke the passion.
A new thread, why Subaru? What's your project?
Send us some pics of your beast? DIY's, I know they take time, but they will be searched and read and retread if they are good. Maybe I'll start one!

EOI: 4x140 to 5x100 bolt pattern adapters

They talk about the Aussie made adaptor style in the US all the time but a bit dear. If you could get them done cheap in Taiwan with current exchange rate there would surely be heaps of takers in the US market.

Yes they were a bit pricey, but well made. Such is the dilemma of the aspiring home mechanic on a tight budget.

Cr0ss**** kit

I measured the backing plates and they are 325mm across at widest point. The approx distance from the Centre of the plate to the caliper hanger mounting bolt is approximately 100mm. So I reckon it just a matter of getting the right size hanger/ bracket for the discs I use? With the backing plate bei...

Thanks men. I think the transplant grafted mix might be a good as the XT6 plates have the right original configuration for the MY suspension. I have a look at kart boys diy. Cheers

Here is a photo of the XT6 hubs and backing plates I picked up. I reckon the stubs look pretty good. The backing plates have a thin metal wrapping 'plate' on the back with is slightly rusted away, but otherwise they are good. I will clean them up and paint with caliper paint, more pics to come. http...
