Unfortunately the images of the area around ellenbrook are about five years out of date. My house is a tree according to that! But the tracks in the parts not yet bulldozed should still be there, so it's not a bad idea.

Man, I'm convinced that there's a way to get into the pines tracks from north ellenbrook. One day I'll find it, then I'll be able to go to wannaroo without touching bitumen :P

Awesome stuff. And it is indeed a small world - I work for a company that flies the FIFO workers up to Telfer (or at least we used to, can't remember if we lost the contract).

They also say that talking to passengers and listening to the radio is just as bad. If these people had their way you'd have to drive around with duct tape on your passengers mouths, no radio, and no other form of communication. Hell, the horn is probably distracting too so that'd have to go... Of c...

When I start my brumby I may end up asking you guys a bajillion stupid questions about this sort of thing. It has just occurred to me that the spare wheel slot you have here would be a good spot for a battery box. :D

Once again, the quality you guys produce puts the rest of us to shame! Great stuff. It'd be great to see video of this thing on (or off, rather) the road once its done!

Bah. Rally Australia used to come to my home town every year, before the dumbarse politicians decided it wasn't worth keeping, and replaced it with the red bull air race. BAH. We couldn't have both? Victoria tried to steal the rally off of us for years, and the WRC people said no, as Perth has relat...

What kind of power and torque can you get out of those washing machine motors? The industrial motors I'm looking at are 11kw nominal (with four or five times that figure as peak power), and 300-ish nm of torque at 0rpm (of course). Though they may be too big, so I may go for smaller ones, but I figu...

I've heard about a liberty in the US that had a head-on with a "truck" (F250 or something like that, I suppose). The guy in the ute had massive injuries, and was taken to hospital by ambulance. On the way he asked about the other driver, and the ambos replied that the little old lady in the subaru h...

I've never had my outback much beyond the speed limit. Mostly because the missus is in the car with me on long trips, and she gets violent :P The old MY touring wagon wouldn't go much more than 130, but it wasn't treated very well so I could have gotten more out of it if I had looked after it. I've ...

I like it! I was driving in my cousin inlaw's Impala the other day, and it has a small roof console like this with the sunroof control, an led display with fuel useage and even your gps direction and temp info, and also programmable radio buttons for things like garage door openers and such. I had t...

The WA Subaru Club is a great club for family outings and all that. We were members when i was a kid and we went all sorts of places in the bush, through the mud, etc. Its probably why I have the subaru bug now, and why my dad has it too. Now that I think about it, it might be a good way to ease my ...

The kumho's on the front on my outback are max 48psi, I think. I think they're the standard outback tyres for that model. I usually run 42ish on the front, but the tyres on the back are crappy cheap ones that won't go higher than 36. I'll have to buy a new set of kumhos when I get back to australia....

I'm overseas at the moment, but after the end of august I'll be back in Perth and up for some 4wding, as long as it's not too hard core. My poor little outback can't handle too much roughness haha
