Hmm well I can't hear much over that deep rumble so I guess that's a good sign :) If you set them to .015" hot I would have thought you wouldn't be able to hear yourself think...maybe your custom engine is bending the rules ;) Hahaha yeah it has a nice intake roar, exhaust rumble and then just gene...

Yes I know my oil can and breathers are dodgy but I don't know what else to do to avoid blow back/by (the ...

Whoops I meant after 200kms, then after ANOTHER 500, not at 500. Sorry Wish I was a millionaire! I have no doubt you can leave the oil in for longer without damage, however I see MASSIVE improvements with every oil change. Probably doesn't cause damage leaving it in, though I do believe it helps fro...

Found a link in your engine build thread Tweety. Originally posted by Venom for the exhaust info. Food for thought from the aero boys http://www.subarubrat.com/airscooby.htm "Break it in with 20 weight mineral oil for about 10 hrs or until the oil consumption stabilizes at almost nothing. On valve settings - that 15 thou hurts my ears ! 15 thou hot !! man, 12 thou cold was bad enough !! In the end I did them my way ...4 thou hot both and that was a start up warm up again between either each cylinder or each bank, though run the risk of things getting tight and maybe a miss if let it...

I'm a reasonably new member but a girl nonetheless! :) ... Have owned two '89 Brumbies in my time and about to be the proud new owner of a 2005 Forester. I'm just starting out in terms of learning the mechanics and workings of cars. At this stage it is just a hobby, but loving every minute of it. W...

Running in oil is designed for the dyno, costs about $30 a liter. The idea is that you do 3 FULL runs on the dyno and then the engine is run in and you can do whatever. My source? RC Performance engines, mate used to work there and thats what they do. http://www.rcperformanceengines.com.au/ The owne...

So long story short...
It fires 2 at once? The cylinder on ignition and the cylinder on exhaust? Helps to burn off anything that hasn't already?

Not that you need it in a Brumby... I warm my feet up then keep it on the demister and it keeps the car very warm.

That does sound like it would be pinging if it changes with timing. Blackwood Dyno tune (repco authorised) charge $140 ish an hour for the dyno. They did an alright job and have an exhaust gas analyser. Might be worth seeing what you can find out

I converted my EJ20G in the RX to wasted spark ignition. I uses the coilpack from just about any EJ22 or EJ25 that uses an external igniter and it works using the existing EJ20G 4 channel igniter. I mounted mine where the air-con compressor once was. Remove the conduit and tape from the start of th...

Sounds like you should have put a 2H in it. Those things will run on 2/6 cylinders and unlike a subaru motor you don't have to worry about or fix your problems straight away lol Love an old 2H toyota diesel! Nice to hear your story Peter, but I do ask one favor... can we see some pictures? Cheers Cam
