Re: NEW FORUM TEST

I am somewhat happy that the main issue here seems to be exactly which emoticons work and which don't :)

Re: G'Day from Wollongong

Welcome. Cool, sounds awesome. Look forward to seeing the build thread. Interested to see how you sort out the hydraulic clutch setup, that's always a bit of fun!

Re: Bennie's EJ conversion into Ruby Scoo, plus some other b

Very interested to see how you go with the rear struts. I desperately need to sort out something decent in the back end for my rig. I need to catch up on this thread!

Re: Old forum files

I don't think the home page was working for years from memory - people had trouble and had to find a link directly to the forum itself to actually access it. The Forum itself was targeted to rescue. Not sure if any other stuff was captured, or if it was even available to capture. Anything specific y...

Yeah the latest update from FB seems to be the guy who runs a VW customisation business already has an R160 locker project underway and expects it to be ready in ~July.

Some things stay similar. At least you've still got Hatchy in your garage Dave. I'm still running a white L series wagon. Need to see some photos of yours down at a beach Alex!

Adapting a WRX motor to an L series gearbox is a silly suggestion and not very practical. - The L series gearbox is not really strong enough for WRX engine power - The L series gearbox is not AWD (unless you find a REALLY rare AWD one), it's front wheel drive, with part-time locked 4x4 available whi...

Yay welcome back Alex. I'm quite a fan of the Gen4s. When I get too fed up with bumping around in the rattly old L series I'm pretty sure that's what I would move into. Certainly more room would be handy with the two baby seats. You're right, I'd probably go with a different driveline but you won't ...

Nice one!
So how long before it gets a lift, offroad modded gearbox, etc etc and takes over touring duties (a little more comfy)? :)

Yeah I used to get those too, using the actual Gumtree app on my iphone (not the browser). Recently moved into an Android phone a few weeks ago and haven't noticed any yet (again, using the App) and haven't noticed any yet but haven't use it a lot recently. Don't believe it's an infection on the dev...

Yeah I'd suspect some bastard doing that to either try and steal your wheel (although maybe unlikely if you didn't find your car on bricks in the morning). Maybe attempted murder or just kids playing a joke. I had the same thing happen once. I'd had an old RX-7 wreck (no motor) sitting out the front...

Hi Scott, Yeah I completed the first placeholder back in Feb and didn't bother to put a new post in here to show up in people's "new posts". Figured it'd best contain a bit more information. I'd forgotten how long it takes to bash these posts out especially when there are lots of photos that need re...

Time to sort out the custom clutch pedal to work with the Hydraulic master cylinder. I've made two of these before. One by welding a bit of metal on as a bracket, another I bolted on a bit of box section. This time I wanted it to be really strong so I chopped up an actual Liberty clutch pedal to use...
