No, you don't need to change anything in the lines. It's just a straight swap. I know of 1/2 a dozen US guys on USMB who have sets available for about $100 US / $120 AUS - and as of the 14th of May USPS will be charging by volume and not weight for airmail so you can get the discs a heck of a lot ch...

Q: What to offer for an L series wagon
I've been offered an L-series wagon by a co-worker. 1990 model, CV's are both gone (he's taking it off the road for this reason), registered until July, heater doesn't work but everything else is fine. 4wd box is good, has A/C, front bullbar, fairly recently replaced clutch, towbar, body is straight...

EA81 A/C wiring
Pete, I've recently fitted A/C to my '89 Brumby and might be able to help. I do have the diagram from the 83 FSM which I can scan in for you, but I have found that wiring for the A/C changes significantly over the years. I assume you have a later model (post 84) with the relay blocks on the drivers ...

Find an 80-81 sedan/wagon/coupe, unscrew their console, cut out the DIN-size radio supports with a hacksaw and file, paint to match your interior, and it all fits. Only problem can be if your CD player is too long, and the entry/exit angle of the CD as the player is sitting on a 30 degree angle (my ...

Rust around the front windscreen is right, definitely the worst spot for them. Oddly enough, the tailgate seems to be one area that rarely rusts - which is lucky because they're darn hard to find. CV's are always an issue, especially if it's a country vehicle or has been off-road a fair bit. The eng...

I assume you mean the plug behind the control panel, and not the plug that is tucked into the far left corner of the dash - as that one is a 2-way only and these are 3-way plugs. I buzzed out the red/white cable running from the 3-way plug behind the control panel to the fan and it comes in almost t...

Help! Identify these two plugs from EA81 A/C wiring behind glovebox
Any residents with an EA81-based vehicle which has A/C installed that can check these plugs for me ? I'm retrofitting an A/C system from a 83 Leone into my 89 Brumby, and have pretty much all the wiring sorted out EXCEPT I can't work out the point of two plugs (see photo) that come off the A/C loom ...

>>Yet another q, would it be hard to fit a 5 speed gearbox to this motor. If not, what would you suggest. Could find the cash but don't exactly have it to throw around. It's not quite a drop-in operation, but fairly straightforward. Lots of info on http://www.ultimatesubaru.org under Older Generatio...

>>It also didn't help that Subaru called the fuglys (72-79) L series as well. I have always reffered to that model as the MV as I've seen it used elsewhere, although Subaru seems to also assign the MV name to Brats / Brumbys I believe MV = Multi-purpose Vehicle, while Brat / Brumby was just used as ...

http://www.autowreckers.com.au/Home/Home.asp They have a special on calipers & disc rotors at the moment :) Last time I was there (about a month back) they had 3 Vortex's, one was a 4wd with the rear discs completely gone (right down to bare axles), and 2 2wd, with one missing part of the rear disc...

Pug wheels
>>common ones are a metric diameter which only Michelin make road tyres for ($$$). the 15 inchers are all taken by the Pug fans for their 505 GTi's and you'll never get any off them It's a 390mm, vs 15" imperial at 382mm from memory. I'd like to have a close look at the rim lip on the alloys and see...

Pug rims
> have head of people cutting the centre out of the pug rim however I have not got any interest in this. As previously quoted the Pugs did come with ‘custom’ pug nuts and I have not attempted to fit any other nuts on other then these… I have heard that it’s a pain though. Pretty sure there are two t...
