Thanks for the lines of thought from you both Steptoe and Macca. Alas it was not as easy as either of those thoughts. :-( After all attempts failed at in situ repairs, I finally bit the bullet and removed the gearbox. It turned out to be a lack of clamping pressure of the pressure plate on the clutc...

Glad to hear there's no lasting injury Benny!! Many years ago I had a damn good go at cutting through the main tendon for my big toe (luckily I didn't succeed) All thanks to stupidly....I was bare footed whilst simultaneously standing on exhaust pipe and trying to cut it with an angle grinder. It gr...

L series 5 speed box wont go into gear
Scratching my head as to why I cant select any gear, either in 2wd, or 4wd hi or low range. The scenario is.... Bought a complete 88 L series touring wagon a couple of years ago, just for the box, for use in the upgrade of my Brumby (EJ22 with L 5 speed) I drove the L car before buying it and all ge...

I had new longer ones custom made up by a brake place here in Brisbane. I just took in the old ones and they made them up straight away. I cant remember the exact price, but they weren't cheap, but at the end of the day what price do you put on your own safety!! A good idea while your system is open...

All of the above, especially the speed holes lol I would run it without a thermostat first, to see if the cooling system is actually able to cope overall (assuming the whole cooling system is not gunked up at present) Then if not go for the bigger radiator option. Also, when are the fans kicking in?...

The bit Steptoe is talking about, is the face of the evaporator which sits between the blower and the heater core/multi vent centre piece. Without a cabin filter, these older evaporator faces can get so gunked up it will completely stop air flowing through them. It is not as easy as a blow out eithe...

Pretty well just confirming most of what has already been said.... -Definitely put twin fans on engine side of radiator Rig them to both come on when A/C is on, and/or if engine water temp switch goes closed circuit. Are you going to use the 4 dedicated fan relays on the side of the Liberty engine b...
