Clock fix

This resistor is in the supply (probably for a Zener diode) and gets hot.

Eventually leads to solder failure.

Resoldered and is now perfect....

If your taking out the oil pump while there, don't forget thers a A and B side to the rotor, you have to look real careful to notice they arean't exactly identical lol. There's an A and B side to rotor? oh, oh. I didn't need to hear that.... How do you tell the difference? Which way does it go in?

It's pretty safe to remove them, especially for a roadie, but there is a gotcha.

The cam timing marks are on the belt covers, so have a good look at where they are and line them up with another land mark before you remove the covers.

Anyone got access to lap times for the event? I couldn't find them. Point of interest is: Did Russel slow down so Craig would appear to be breaching rules? It would be in Russells best interest to do so because it would close the gap to his own 4th place in the championship..... IMO - A race is a ra...

since when would you normally expect to need to replace pistons? piston rings yes, but pistons? All the engines I've rebuilt in the past have have been bored and had the pistones replaced (all of them Ford). I've never really considered not doing it. However if the EA82T is renowed for getting grea...

Like the idea of an EJ2x turbo with Megasquirt, but the cost of EJ engine / box / tailshaft / diff along with re-wire, re-plumb and re-exhaust has got to cost more than rebuiding the EA82. Doesn't it? EJ adaptor plate is appealing too, but there is still the cost of re-wire, re-plumb and re-exhaust ...

I haven't removed mine yet, but if there are any electrolytic capacitors on the board, try replacing them too. They are notorious for drying out.

L series clock help (RX turbo)

Clock in the middle of my dash has stopped working (86 RX turbo)

Can anyone tell me how to remove the clock? Hopefully it's not a "dash out" problem

Is this a common problem?

My oil pump doesn't have any (paper) gaskets, only a 3 holed neoprene seal (looks a bit like Mickey Mouse) I try to line up the rotor housing with the block as closely as possible then jiggle the pump rotor carfully until it slides in. If you are having trouble lining it up, you can cut some lengths...
