Well the car does not have an immobiliser fitted:rolleyes:. An immobiliser would not cause a delay it would just not start at all. It looks like it was a fusible link problem. One of the connectors had a fair amount of corrosion on it. This created high resistance in the electrical circuit. It all c...

"L" Series Starting Issues

Recently when turning the key to start my "L" series there is a delay before the starter engages, this delay seems to be up to several seconds. Has anyone else experienced this and knows where I should look to fix the problem?

It could be that the Radiator needs a good clean. I had a similar problem but after a good clean all is good now.

I have to agree, Steve at Rising Sun is the best in Adelaide with Subby's. The work he has done on mine is great and cannot be faulted.:)

The GPS function only relies on the GPS satellites to work. It does not rely upon the cell phone system to work. I used my phone where there was no phone coverage and the GPS functioned nicely.

I recently changed over to a Nokia 6110 Navigator. I am am very impressed with the navigation software. Satellite lock is very fast compared to the Navman I also have. But the Nokia operating system has crashed twice on me, and requires you to remove battery to reset it. The screen is quite readable...

Pulling the steering wheel will help a lot. It sounds like one of the bras spring contact is fatigued. I managed to sort of tweak mine by bending it. But it is frustrating. Mine still flickers very occasionally. I think I will have to replace the whole mechanism one day.

It does sound like the contacts in the stalk control are dirty. I suggest getting some decent contact cleaner from an electronics store. The best way I found to clean the contacts is to remove steering wheel, then remove cowl around steering column, I think the 5 screws on the underneath. And if i r...

My "L" series is exhibit a bad case of pinging, does anyone have any ideas on trying to track down what is causing this? It is an annoying noise which has me worried that there is something wrong with the ea82 engine. the engine is the fuel injected version. Any help in tracking down what might be c...

Has anyone done the Goolwa to river mouth track. I have a standard touring wagon, no lift. I am wondering if it would be up to it?
