Brumby Antenna

Hi guys, around the year 2000 I replaced my brumby antenna at least twice. Now I'm needing another one again, but having trouble finding a listing.

Anyone know of a replacement or a universal unit that will work? TIA

Re: Flood damage ECU

Doesn't it have a factory immobiliser? I thought it would? If your in northern Adelaide, hit up Alchin Locksmiths, they're the gods of automotive keys and immobiliers: They may be able to code a sencond hand ECU in, otherwise you need the ECU, immobilier box(es) and keys to suit, but then you're sti...

Re: 1992 project Brumby from Finland

That'll clean up fine, most of it's there. Can confirm I got my windscreen rubber from ebay.com.au, but I am in Australia: They're definately available, like you say, ask a couple of the sellers, one of them would have to ship international. I also got my carpet from here in Australia. I got genuine...

Re: Outback 2017 jerking

Sorry, late reply: Our Impreza was surging when we first got it in 2015, there was an ECU udpate they did at the first service that sorted it out. The other thing worth considering, how many km's has this done? I'm seeing various cars with CV issues, the inner one wears and causes a vibration/shudde...

pretty sure, unless you find them on ebay from over seas, you're pretty well stuck with genuine only.

One of the members here works in Subaru parts, he might chime in?

Re: LIBERTY RS TURBO owner need help

Hi, nice car you've got: Very envious. What side of Adelaide are you? I'm in Adelaide, without sounding rude, I'm the type of guy that would wear the T shirt "I didn't become a mechanic to fix your #$%^ for free". S & J are obviously 'the' subaru people: And there's one or two other 'experts' out th...

Re: How many kms does your Subaru have?

My first brumby I got ~ 1998, had 9,000km (farm only) miles on it: sold it in 2001 with ~ 50,000km.

Wife's GJ impreza (2014) is just coming up for it's 92,000km service (I service every 6,000km religiously).

My red brumby.... dunno, I'll have to check that out.

Re: Brumby - Torsion bar mounting bolt snapped at body

If you've got a steady hand, you can drill the centre of the bolt out (before you snap the head off!) and that can 'relieve' the pressure enough to get the bolt out sometimes. I've had to use a local 'fastener specialist' a couple of times to do this on Honda crankshaft bolts: The engines rotate ant...

Re: Brumby/Leone Power Steering Replacement

Sorry for late reply: I get all my steering stuff at OG Automotive, were on OG road, now in Broadview? https://ogautomotiveservices.com.au/ (free plug for their driveshafts too. Fair price (maybe not as cheap as repco junk) but I've seriously never had one fail, and some of my customers are fairly f...

Re: Ellie the Brumby (1991)

I've got a small one hand operated grease pump, it's a king chrome one - brand doesn't matter (about $20) and it's a good idea to run a line of grease down important threads to lubricate them, it makes a hell of a difference upon the actual 'torque' applied: I try and grease every customers wheel lu...

You've done well!

I didn't get to mine at all... Nearly got another project crossed off, and I've also moved and been elbow deep in gardening and repairs there....

I too grabbed a 5 speed kit from u-pull-it.

Keep us posted, you're is going great guns! Be proud!

Bennie, that appears to have it, but is it possible to download the pdf, rather than flick one page at a time?

Thanks guys: Yes the EA 5speed manual is proving hard to find, I might hit the library see if they have the suby manuals.

Re: 89 Targa Brumby

Thanks guys.

The box is a bit oily, and it stinks, so I want to pull it down and give the once over. Anyone know of any pdf's on stripping the 5 speed?

5 Speed Dual Range EA82 Gearbox Manual

Hi guys, anyone have any info/manuals to suit a L series 1991 D/R box, I want to go over one before I fit it to the vehicle.

My googlefu is severely lacking on this one.

TIA,

Re: 89 Targa Brumby

I did manage to find a badly faded paint code sticker in the end! IIRC it was Rio Red. Anyways, decided I need 5 forward cogs... Got a box out of a 1991 L, code TW75F9K2BW. I grabbed the rear diff just in case I need that if the ratio's different between my 89 brumby box. I grabbed all the console, ...

Re: Ellie the Brumby (1991)

Looks pretty good. In my experience they don't rust easily in the wheel arch/fender/guard liner area. My first one was inches deep in mud/muck, but no rust luckily. Wish my windscreen was as clean as yours: I'm going to get stuck in in the next few weeks before winter's here again. My engine's leaki...

Hi, I'm also in Adelaide, and took about 12 months to find a brumby that would work for me: Turns out it was another members brumby from a previous life. It's my second brumby, the first one looked better from above but was pretty beat underneath, where as the red targa I have now has dents and rust...
