The firmware was replaced with the updated version with the previous owner (Subaru WA.. was a sales reps car) and the car would shudder with or without the cruise control set. I'm sure there was some kind of overlap happening but the feeling was more in the driveline than the engine itself but (cro...

I see this is an old post, so not sure if this helps or the original poster's issues were solved but my daughter's foz was shuddering at between 2200 and 2300 RPM but we could not find any issues with it. The vehicle would shudder until you lifted the foot off the accelerator. We where looking at e...

Issues 1. You (anyone else wishing to install) need to make sure your android device is connected (and has the capability) to the net It may have just needed to confirm the licence first. My device only needs Bluetooth to connect to OBD-II dongle. If you have a WiFi dongle then you'll still need Wi...

Warning Regarding Starting Whilst Torque/Torque Pro Is Already Running

WARNING AGAINST INITIATING AN OBD-II CONNECTION WHILST TORQUE PRO IS ALREADY RUNNING [/u] (Note I have posted about this elsewhere) I forgot last night: there is a chance, under a specific situation, that Torque will initiate a miscommunication with the forester and disable most, if not all, featur...

Torque Pro setup for Diesel Forester 2010 and on

Hi Paul, I'll reply in your thread currently so we can do Q&A as necessary. Once we have a definitive setup procedure you/I can make a new 'correct' thread/post that can be stickied if necessary. What you'll need * Android device * Torque Pro for Android * Possibly a couple of plugins for Torque Pro...

Her car is the base model and I'm not sure what the head unit is but I'll put up a picture. I know when I turn my bluetooth on, on my phone I get a bluetooth signal that reads "Subaru BT V02" (see 1st picture) and when I connect I get this "CALL" message on the head unit display (see 2nd picture) Y...

What I can probably do is PM you or do another post with the dashboard setup and/or profile file(s) and the PID file attached and tell you what directory to put them in on your android device. Once they're in there Torque Pro should pick them up automatically. I have some other stuff to do and I hav...

Cheers and thanks for all your help along the way. No probs. :-) ...From my understanding of the cleaning process (correct me if I'm wrong), is that firstly the undissolved diesel that has been trapped in the unit needs to be broken down.. either by heat or chemical reaction, then once the "sludge"...

Good work Paul! A Clean Result I was going to suggest you give it a clean out yourself as you really have not much to lose if it's terminally (or close to it) clagged. As you seem to be associated with mechanical/engineering industries I was going to suggest you get hold of an ultrasonic bath and gi...

Hi Patrick, Well bad news :( According to the scan tool, we have 170% soot level (really amazed at how we can get over 100% of anything these days???) and 30% blockage. Which won't allow us to do a force regen, so we are going to remove the DPF and have it sent away for cleaning. Bummer, that! Here...

Hi Paul, Oh.. ok, well I'll need to remove and have cleaned then. Cheers for that. Just connect up your scanner and see if you can initiate a forced regen of some sort first. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qIh5PqeVqM - MRT Video about a forced regen on an overfull Forester DPF (sorry only way ...

Hi Patrick, sorry mate but I know how you feel (but please don't sigh.. TOONGA does this all the time and I want to slap him every time he does it ;) ) but I'm sure you've read these sort of issues too many times and sick of typing. I was going to get my head around this Diesel diagnostics stuff wh...

(sigh...) 0) I would suggest don't drive the car any further...yet. YOU NEED TO READ THE OBD-II ERROR CODES BEFORE GOING FURTHER. 1) Good on you for catching the split in the pipe. Check all of 'em, elbows, hoses, pipes, joints for looseness etc. and replace where possible/necessary with silicone on...

After a long while thinking it over, I've decided it's time I bought a different car to use as my daily (don't worry still Subaru! :o ) Something more modern, comfortable, faster etc etc. So I am excited for that, I've never actually owned a "nice" car to date. Something I wouldn't be embarrassed t...

HI Donkeytits, great work again. Perhaps some monitoring- have you got FreeSSM or ROMRaider or an OBDII reader hooked up? That way you could monitor exactly what it's doing (or trying to do). Not sure if OBDII will work with 2001 as it's pre Aussie-OBD mandate. You could possibly remap with ROMRaide...

some thoughts.... 1) I thought snapping the throttle shut usually results in a momentarily rich mixture (or at least did with carbys) as the air is removed but he fuel remains or keeps coming through for a short period...although the reduced flow can lead to higher temps. Two ways to reduce this: EG...
