The only prob with the wagon conversion is the tank location - there's nowhere to put it except in the boot. A manifold tank is the least obtrusive. (looks like 3 small tanks joined together). Carby or EFI doesn't matter, although EFI motors are better suited to gas, and easier to switch between the...

I've got an L-series carby you can have for the postage cost.
Was working when engine removed but it's been sitting for a year.
Let me know....

I had the same problem with my L series - cheap Chinese wheels aren't drilled on centre and the centre hole is too large to locate on the hub, which is what actually centres the wheel. You can get an 'on-car wheel balance'. That will help with the symptoms but not the cause. They really need to be r...

I put L series sedan rear coils in my wagon and it sits quite lowish.
The ride is much smoother too...
Probably not much help with a Vortex though.

You can get yours reset for about $100.

I think it's fairly straight forward, but I haven't done it myself.
There's plenty of Sube gurus on Ausubaru with more of an idea than me.

Leave the cat. Advance the ignition timing and make sure the plugs/leads/etc are good. If you don't already have one, fit an electronic dissy. Make sure the cooling sytem is perfect, maybe a slightly colder thermostat. Run a nice cold air intake if you don't already have one. Make sure guy who tuned...

FYI - increasing roll stiffness in the front generally INCREASES understeer.
put a rear bar on it. And then fix the atrocious front end geometry.

I still say the mechanic is being petty - trying to drum up business for himself. You'd think if someone is paying 90 bucks for 20 minutes work it wouldn't be too much effort to stick a pin down the washer nozzle to clear it. And since when is a radiator hose a safety issue? My parents got a 'free n...

I say find another roadworthy inspector. "Lower radiator hose"??? Who gives a crap! Aside from the rust, which impossible to comment on without seeing, it's all just part of operating a car. You could easily have bought a '92 model with the same problems - I mean, "r/h windscreen washer". Gimme a br...

Oversteer worse than understeer?? Come on, it's much more fun!

A rear sway bar will stop all the nasty rear body roll.
I've got a stock L-series one if you want it. No idea if it will fit an MY.

I'd be putting a NEW thermostat back in it. Running no thermostat can cause all sorts of problems- Excessive engine wear. Poor fuel comsumption. Rich running/fouled plugs. Catalytic convertor damage. All not very nice things...... The turbo should have an oil feed line - perfect for putting an oil c...

I wouldn't chuck the viscous/clutch fan. I'd replace the clutch in it and possibly fit some shrouding. A good engine driven fan will suck a ****load more air than a cheap lecky one, especially at high rpms under load, such as on soft sand.
An engine oil cooler would be nice on a turbo'ed donk too.

The drive gear is different from 81 to 82. I found that i had to fit the 81 drive gear onto the 82 dizzy by drilling a hole in the shaft for the roll pin in the correct position. I then had to cut one of the adjuster ear things off for clearance and move the dizzy around one tooth clockwise for corr...
