Stay the course gents, I'm sure it will get sorted eventually.
I would suggest that membership is set to Admin/Mod approval, and set new members to require post approval for the first couple of posts.

If yours is pre-OBD, it will have the green connectors under the steering column.
Here is the procedure for the early WRX (Forester is the same process).

Re: WRX EJ20 Turbo into L-Series Wagon
With the intercooler, those two black dots in the spare wheel well are mounting points for the bracket that the space saver spare sits on. They could be a good mount point for the cooler, unless you want the cooler to move with the engine. You read my mind Bennie! I'm going to pick up from those mo...

Re: WRX EJ20 Turbo into L-Series Wagon
Shortened up the pitch rod, it's just the L one cut down, and fits the WRX gearbox. https://imghostr.net/images/2018/12/08/87d90f50cb59a417ce6f901da1fa32a7.jpg Radiator hoses are often the bane of engine conversions, but I went through the Gates catalogue and found ones with the requires 32mm - 44mm...

Re: Forester utility
You will have to find something to weld in as the rear cab window section.
I'd look at grafting the rear tailgate onto the C pillars, but as a non-opening panel.

Glad you are getting some success!
2.25" exhaust is way too big, you will lose all your low end torque. 2" is just fine, even with a Weber, cams and ported heads.

Re: Buyers remorse, need inspiration!
And an EA81 would be an upgrade in the L series over the EA82... bullet proof without the rubber bands to run the cams ;) An even better upgrade would be the Diesel. No rubber bands, awesome ECU remap potential, and mind-numbing torque off idle. When they come down in price, I might look at sandwic...

Re: WRX EJ20 Turbo into L-Series Wagon
I've never seen anyone use 3 factory pieces for the gearbox crossmember. Looks really neat! Cheers, I like to use as much of the factory gear as possible. Plus, powdercoat makes everything look nice. From past experience, I know that the powdercoating bill for this build will exceed the purchase pr...

Re: WRX EJ20 Turbo into L-Series Wagon
You'll need the front section of your L series tailshaft shortened by about 70mm at a tailshaft specialist workshop. If you can afford it, recommend getting the uni joints all replaced with proper greasable ones. The last one I had done, they basically made me an entire brand new tailshaft and only...

Re: WRX EJ20 Turbo into L-Series Wagon
Got a fair bit done over the last 2 weeks, the major part being the mounting cradle for the gearbox. As I have a selection of parts available, I decided to go with a modified manual front crossmember, a modified rear automatic crossmember, and the EJ centre mount. The manual front crossmember only r...

Re: WRX EJ20 Turbo into L-Series Wagon
What needed to be modified on the chassis rail to fit the EJ25 turbo? I thought all EJ turbo engines fitted in the L series without any issues?? No mods required, I just had the crossmember sandblasted and powdercoated, as it looked a bit shabby. Also helps to keep it clean when the rocker covers i...
