My 3 speed Automatic L Series
Well I picked this car up for 1800 dollars April 2014. 173 000 kms on the clock and no rust. However at the time it was leaking from the cam seals, rocker covers, sump gasket and oil pump. It also had a rusted out exhaust, stuffed rack ends, 2 crappy wheel bearings, Leaking carby, worn ball joints a...

Well I got the gear box service done but its gotta go back in next week because the module on the side of the gear box has a big hole in the in it so fixing that once the part arrives. Got 14 inch rims running 195/65R14s they scrub a little under breaks but only on the flares. I have now also acquir...

how much did the AP60 set you back? interior is dark grey it is one of the rare automatic 4wd's with the button on the side of the dash that is meant to engage with brakes, acceleration and wipers. its in rough shape I scored the wheel carrier off it for 150 thinking of going back for the tacho, the...

Touring wagon vs normal model
I having been contemplating switching all the good stuff exhaust, bullbar, blue touring wagon carpet, seats map reading lights and boot lights and floor vents into a nice red 87 Touring wagon my GL is a 91 model. Other than the above items and the tacho and other than space from the raised roof what...

t bar auto
well mine is under 200 000 kms on the engine which might help a little, and the 2 inch custom exhaust with high flow cat running from the heads to the tip did improve it's economy to just slightly. running 175/70R13s to get around the 8-9L per 100, more highway driving it does the closer I get to th...

+1 for putting a kit through the standard carby it made a world of difference for my EA82 3 speed. Went from using 12 -14 L per 100 on standard tyres to 9-10s in average with occasionally dipping in to 8L per 100 with really crusty old tyres. Running 195/65R14s are a roof basket and spare on top of ...

Something i have noticed with mine.
This was quoted off an american forum about the loyale but I must admit I have noticed this feature on mine first time I have had an automatic do it, I have mostly drive falcons in my time and they have apparently had a lock up torque converter but have never done this. I quote 3-speed auto is a gas...

dont do it.
I've towed 750KG with an automatic L series running a 2inch exhaust and I gotta say the feeling was not fun I was nervous all the way and I couldn't climb hills faster than about 60KPH. With an MY towing 1600 KG you'd probably roll backwards down any hills assuming you don't break something.....

automatic AWD vs automatic 4WD
Just sort of comparing the two systems awd works with a front biased then detects traction loss and adjusts accordingly vs 4wd once engaged having a 50/50 split or?
Wondering which would work better in rough stuff
